Ideally you should have only 1 full screen Camera.Render call during most of the game. UI batching is chained in hierarchy order. If you overlay a UI element from another atlas (or texture) on top of any element inside the chain - it'll break the chain and result in an additional draw call. Unity frame debugger is great for profiling UI batching.

Hey guys, I am struggling with LWRP and camera stacking. There are numerous posts/threads about it on Unity's forum. However, I need some sort of example / a sample project to really understand how to implement it with scriptable render passes. I came across a document that describes it briefly (see the link below).
How can I get the effect of Screen Space - Overlay Canvas on VR? I want both of the eye cameras to have menus in the exact same positions. I don't want to mix it with world space, so the only option I can think of is having a duplicate of each UI element, one for each camera.
